Our durable Scotch-Brite™ SE surface conditioning belt was built to last, resisting both wear and sharp edges when used for cleaning, blending, deburring and finishing on a variety of metals. Constructed of resin reinforced non-woven fiber, our Scotch-Brite™ SE surface conditioning belts resist loading and avoid under cutting or gouging of the work piece. We engineered this belt to exhibit high initial and extended rates of cut, while maintaining superior edge durability. All belts may be used for "low stretch" applications. We also included a woven fabric (scrim) in our conditioning products, which is embedded in the nylon structure to provide additional strength and durability for edge work, deburring and efficient blending of all metal types. Due to its high cut rate, hardness, strength and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing use. Aluminum oxide is suitable on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
